0:02 welcome back everybody we are so excited
0:05 to be here today I have Keith and Katie
0:07 again with us which you know she’s the
0:09 founder of inventors club for women and
0:12 Keith is our growth strategist
0:14 you guys please look him up I can’t
0:18 stress that enough
0:19 and me Luanne you guys today I
0:22 this is kind of personal for me I know I
0:24 asked the gang and then they both were
0:26 like yeah we’ve got topics that would be
0:28 great I want people to understand
0:32 that when you invent something you’re an
0:34 extremely creative mind that sees a
0:37 problem you’ve solved it and you
0:39 create this really great Gadget and
0:41 there’s been a part in my life where I
0:43 felt like why can’t I do that but I
0:46 create Creative Marketing strategies
0:49 right so I know that in order for me
0:52 to get success or to get in front of a
0:54 company I can’t just do what everybody
0:57 else is doing because then there’s I
0:59 think General Motors one time said to me
1:01 you know there’s five thousand people
1:03 that are submitting products to me every
1:04 day and I’m like Oh I thought I was the
1:06 only one calling so I have learned over
1:10 my 30 years of doing this that being
1:12 that creative mind I get to use it for
1:16 marketing and so I think that’s harder
1:18 sometimes for an inventor to come out of
1:20 that and look into that creative piece
1:22 for marketing but it is huge
1:26 there is a product called the
1:28 pillow Cube
1:29 I think we’ve all seen it I don’t
1:31 know if you haven’t please google it
1:33 he owned a you guys a company
1:36 called credibly they do videos but
1:38 they got really good at doing videos
1:40 that went viral and so he has 700 dollars
1:44 invested in a cube that’s a pillow
1:46 now and he did 35 million on online
1:49 sales in the first two years from a
1:52 corny video and so those are the things
1:55 that I love right those are the things
1:57 that really can make a difference and so
2:00 when I look at products that people
2:01 bring me I’m always thinking how do I
2:04 make it stand out how am I going to get
2:06 in front of the same other people I I
2:08 know I have the same sell sheet I know I
2:10 have the same strategy but I got to do
2:12 something that’s going to make a
2:13 difference so tell me Katie PR
2:15 background you you’ve got your inventors
2:17 that you coach
2:19 what do you think about that whole
2:20 Creative Marketing I mean give us some
2:22 ideas what you were thinking yeah so
2:25 when I encourage my innovators to
2:27 take the pr approach we’ve talked about
2:29 Harrow help a reporter out you know on
2:31 other on another episode
2:34 but this week A friend of mine friend
2:37 and innovator
2:38 Marianne kilgallon the founder and
2:41 innovator of pom connect had applied for
2:46 a program through NBC Universal and I
2:48 attended the premiere with her up in
2:50 Philadelphia this week and it was really
2:51 powerful amazing so cool so she was she
2:55 was part of founding in color which
2:56 actually launches in two days February
2:59 16th so I’ll give her that little plug
3:02 so if you have peacock NBC it’s
3:04 on that
3:06 but my point in telling you this is
3:08 this was really free PR and she now has
3:12 her and all the other innovators in the
3:15 program have the backing of NBC
3:18 Universal and they’re able to use that
3:21 PR
3:22 to blow up their companies which is
3:25 just so exciting for all of them and so
3:28 amazing so you know there are other
3:31 opportunities out there shark tank is
3:33 another really great opportunity
3:36 if you have all of your ducks in a
3:37 row take advantage of it apply for it
3:40 not everybody’s going to get in apply
3:41 more than once
3:43 but then also make sure that you are
3:45 prepared and ready when the thing does
3:47 blow up and blow out of the water you
3:49 want to make sure that you’re in a
3:50 position where you can get sales you can
3:53 take sales and you know maybe be in a
3:56 position for licensing or whatever might
3:58 come up oh so let me see if I understand
4:00 so what you’re saying is by her having
4:02 applied for an accelerator program not
4:05 only did she get all that experience but
4:07 she got all the pr exactly right and she
4:10 was part so and it’s not necessarily
4:12 she’s done accelerators as well but this
4:14 is a show so this is an actual show that
4:16 launches in two days Thursday February
4:19 16th and it will be on peacock so this
4:24 is the second season it’s called
4:25 founding in color and then there’s
4:27 another piece called rise which is a
4:29 documentary on other Founders but
4:32 there’s lots of opportunities like that
4:34 I know the Discovery Channel has done
4:36 things like that things like that that
4:38 pop up just apply and take advantage of
4:40 it yeah and see what’s going on and see
4:42 what happens because you never know it’s
4:43 just like Shark Tank yeah I mean that’s
4:45 free PR that’s huge if you can get
4:48 backed up by national
4:50 companies like NBC ABC or Shark Tank
4:53 you’re gonna go you’re gonna it’s great
4:56 you’ll be blown out on every publication
4:58 media Outlet out there yeah and I think
5:01 I keep thinking licensing but you’re
5:03 right for guys who have their products
5:05 right it’s really ideal yeah I know you
5:08 wanted to say something
5:10 I heard your little mind yeah I was
5:12 actually gonna say
5:14 should we restart this one just because
5:16 of the dates yeah because it’s not
5:19 going to air until way after this
5:24 we just really went on and on that something that’s gone
5:30 yeah but I think that was a good
5:33 discussion to start so now we know kind
5:35 of where we’re going okay
5:38 also because that weird noise
5:40 and I was like oh my gosh but it seems
5:43 to have stopped now
5:45 but
5:46 also I think you shifted over like quite
5:49 a bit oh I did wrong okay oh I got you
5:52 way out I got you in the fat seat
5:54 literally the fatsy to
5:56 all right
5:57 so your story was great just cut out the
6:00 dates okay cool yeah okay yeah we don’t
6:03 like we realized because of the timing
6:06 like we can’t say like right state or in
6:09 X days from now those things just
6:10 because it plays anchors it
6:13 cool
6:14 good to go okay clap
6:17 don’t do it because I have to put my
6:19 hands down
6:20 now I know that
6:23 Jericho all right
6:25 hi everybody welcome back
6:27 I’m excited today I have Katie
6:30 the founder of the inventors club for
6:32 women and I got Keith back who’s the
6:34 best growth strategist I’ve ever known
6:36 so please feel free to reach out to him
6:38 and myself Luanne who I’ve been helping
6:41 inventors take products to market for
6:42 over 30 years through licensing and I
6:45 want to start over I don’t want to waste
6:46 my time on all that again okay
6:48 but
————————————————————————————————————————————
6:51 hi everybody we’re back I got Katie and
6:54 Keith with me today and we are excited
6:58 again it might be a little more personal
6:59 to me but I wanted to talk about
7:01 Creative Marketing
7:03 inventors are awesome at creating
7:06 awesome ideas but then they kind of stop
7:09 at that right they get through
7:10 prototyping and then their little brain
7:11 goes I don’t know what I’m gonna do to
7:13 Market this and so I wanted people to
7:16 understand that you know we all have
7:17 this there’s kind of a system right you
7:19 try to get yourself sheet in front of
7:21 somebody or you try to knock on a
7:22 buyer’s door but I I have found in my
7:25 past that being a little more creative
7:28 could help me get around the line so I’m
7:32 gonna share my like the truth of a past
7:36 story of my pantyhose deal I did end up
7:40 getting very large amount of money for
7:41 it we got 35 million total I got 4.1
7:44 million down and what we did didn’t
7:46 affect that but we had a lot of fun on
7:49 an approach where we built what I call
7:52 must have it campaign and so I had my
7:57 inventor or friends of mine or whoever I
7:59 could recruit started calling companies
8:02 asking for this product because I was
8:04 like if you get enough people going
8:05 where is it then when I call on them I
8:08 have a fighting shot at making making a
8:10 sale
8:11 so for me it
8:14 I live for this creativity
8:16 but it works so ideas like that that
8:19 stand out of the norm tend to do really
8:22 well
8:23 I I’ve been at a chamber of commerce
8:25 meeting where I walk in late I carry
8:28 smelly things in my hand and I apologize
8:31 for being late and they always say well
8:34 you’re already in the center do your
8:36 pitch now then I can do my pitch and go
8:38 home you guys and they never forget you
8:40 because you walked in late you made a
8:41 lot of noise you came with lots of
8:43 smelly gooey things and people love it
8:45 so that’s the kind of thing I’m trying
8:46 to get across is like how to think
8:48 Outside the box to stand out and Katie I
8:51 know you have a great story about one of
8:54 the
8:55 inventors that you’ve coached and
8:58 and she’s a friend a friend she’s a
9:00 friend she had approached me with her
9:01 idea about six years ago and we just
9:04 gave her some guidance so
9:07 fast forward she was asked to be part
9:10 of founding in color which has been done
9:11 by NBC Universal Comcast out of my City
9:15 Philadelphia
9:17 so I was really excited to attend the
9:19 premiere with her for that and she is
9:21 from Orlando so she is the inventor
9:23 innovator for Palm connect her name’s
9:25 Marianne So now they did a whole show
9:27 with you well there are 11 Founders
9:29 total so from all across the country
9:33 really incredible wow but my
9:35 point telling you this is this was free
9:38 PR for her so incredible PR backed by
9:42 NBC Universal the biggest in the in the
9:46 country you know one of the three
9:47 biggest CBS NBC ABC so if you can get
9:51 your hands on this type of PR where you
9:54 can apply for any type of program
9:57 like this that’s going to put you on
10:00 television put you in the media whether
10:02 it be Shark Tank whether it be the
10:04 Discovery Channel they do a lot of those
10:06 types of things and just do a Google
10:08 search you know poke around online and
10:11 check out and see what might be offered
10:14 and if you fit the Bell because you
10:16 just might and they might choose you and
10:18 you guys I gotta tell you Keith after
10:19 she went to the premiere and it was I
10:21 think it was like six or eight hour
10:22 Premiere so it was a big deal and they
10:24 had pictures with all this they it just
10:26 looks so professional but she calls me
10:28 on the ride home she’s like look I’m
10:29 gonna get my husband who you guys I joke
10:31 is the patent attorney she’s like I’m
10:33 gonna get him to do for her like some
10:35 work so that we can get some stock
10:37 because she’s about to blow and it was
10:40 fun it’s so obvious is that once you get
10:42 that much PR it’s going to make a
10:44 difference so no matter what she’s done
10:46 on her own somebody just nurtured her
10:48 and turned her into yeah and she’s
10:50 amazing she is absolutely incredible
10:52 she’s done all of this on her own
10:55 but I really had to share that story
10:57 because anybody has the opportunity to
11:00 do this everybody has the opportunity to
11:02 do this
11:03 and I just really I can’t stress that
11:05 enough so and if you don’t get into
11:07 Shark Tank the first time apply again
11:09 and maybe apply again
11:11 because you just might get in at some
11:13 point I love that you brought up Shark
11:14 Tank too because a lot of people only
11:16 think of it in the funding aspect right
11:18 but even if you don’t get funding you
11:20 are out there and your idea is like you
11:22 know there might be a you know a million
11:25 people that are like well I don’t agree
11:26 with that sure I gotta bought that thing
11:28 yeah right and from a periodic
11:30 series well exactly and from a PR
11:32 standpoint you can repurpose that taping
11:36 again and again and again
11:39 and that’s free which is awseome you know you
11:42 can blow up your social media and if you
11:43 don’t have social media that’s another
11:45 Creative Marketing so you might not be
11:46 thinking of it that way but grow your
11:49 Instagram that’s a really big which is
11:50 so funny because we are before you tank
11:53 and we are tanked because everybody
11:55 knows Shark Tank right so we knew that
11:57 if you caught on to the word tank it’s
11:59 gonna stick and we know we have we
12:03 have girls who have been on Shark
12:05 Tank who now need help with sales and
12:07 growth and we’re helping them continue
12:10 on yes but every time you mention Shark
12:12 Tank people automatically in the head
12:14 and think oh this product’s great and
12:16 they must have done great right and they
12:17 automatically think you made it that’s
12:19 that’s not typically ever the case and
12:22 actually founding in color
12:24 if you look it up you know it’s a
12:26 great show I highly recommend watching
12:27 it one of the founders talks about that
12:30 everything is not the way it appears and
12:32 it’s not the way it seems yeah that’s a
12:33 really good point and I think we should
12:35 dig a little deeper into that because a
12:36 lot of people listening right now maybe
12:38 automatically disqualifying themselves
12:40 right because they may be like well I
12:41 don’t
12:42 Shark Tank I don’t have you know a you
12:45 know international newsworthy product right
12:47 but we’re talking about Creative
12:49 Marketing and I think that applies to
12:50 every single level no matter where
12:52 you’re at exactly so I’d love to dig a
12:53 little bit more into that you know
12:54 you’ve talked a little bit about some of
12:56 these ideas maybe some of the creative
12:58 strategies like the mindset how you just
13:01 think differently about what you’re
13:03 trying to accomplish
13:04 well and for me you guys I’m always
13:07 thinking how do I get a company to look
13:09 at my product to license or how do I get
13:11 a buyer to want to purchase and you guys
13:13 I think it takes seven times for a buyer
13:16 to say no before they’ll say yeah
13:17 right so comfortable with no exactly so
13:21 when I think of creative in my head
13:25 I give an example we had a I had a
13:28 client who had a product line that would
13:30 have been great to go with like Nine
13:32 West shoes or something like that and
13:35 there was a trade show just happened to
13:36 be in my town at the right time and we
13:40 went and barged right into the trade
13:42 show that was kind of exclusive I went
13:45 in the door kind of fumbled around a
13:47 little naive and happened to run smack
13:51 into the Nine West guy
13:55 obviously I knew what I was doing but I
13:58 went in with sort of this Lost Girl
14:00 Theory and asked a question and then I
14:03 said to him oh you know
14:05 I have something that I think you would
14:07 absolutely love and he was so sweet as
14:10 he walked me out saying here’s my
14:13 business card we can do this at the
14:15 right time but we are open to it that’s
14:18 all I wanted I knew that going in so I’m
14:21 saying to yourself without and be
14:23 without being rude and inconsiderate
14:25 there are creative ways to make things
14:28 stand out and you know like when you go
14:30 to a trade show have you guys ever gone
14:31 where they have like cookies and you’re
14:33 always everybody goes to the kind of
14:35 thing it’s that kind of Ideal that kind
14:37 of like I have sent emails to buyers
14:42 that are kind of catchy in the pit so
14:45 you know like on my subject line it’s
14:47 like
14:48 think of things that I say I appreciate
14:50 that thought but what and then you they
14:52 go what and so they open my email right
14:56 because it’s like did I say something
14:57 and what did I say so that’s the kind of
15:00 thing that I was thinking about when I
15:01 was thinking how do I do Creative
15:02 Marketing how can you do things that
15:04 stick out yeah and I think in a really
15:06 important theme in all of those right is
15:08 kind of getting down to you know
15:10 thinking about who you’re really trying
15:12 to connect with and what their day may
15:14 look like and what they may care about
15:15 because then you can think through
15:17 opportunities to you know find yourself
15:20 in their path with something that’s
15:22 relevant to what they’re thinking or
15:24 what they’re you know because if you
15:25 just lob something over the wall like oh
15:27 check out my great whatever it does
15:28 today they’re like great I’m busy
15:30 exactly that’s my point so there has to
15:32 be that has to be something a
15:35 little creative you know that’s and
15:37 that’s why I said sometimes it’s your
15:38 subject line or sometimes it’s you
15:42 know we’ve done I’ve had a few sell
15:44 sheets that are just a little more
15:46 fascinating or
15:48 you know I know sometimes when you
15:50 tell a story part way where you actually
15:52 can pull somebody in but then you don’t
15:54 finish and I when I first heard that I
15:57 thought really but I’ve done it right
16:00 and it is amazing how you some buyer
16:02 that have been dying to get there I
16:04 start to tell the story and I’m like all
16:06 right well maybe I’ll just finish you
16:08 know if it’s something you’re interested
16:09 in I’ll be more than happy and let’s you
16:11 know I don’t want to take up all your
16:12 time and they’ll go back and say all
16:13 right I gotta know I mean it doesn’t
16:16 always work but sometimes it’s like I
16:17 gotta know and I’m thinking oh my God
16:19 this worked so those are the kind of
16:21 things that I was trying to think of is
16:23 how do you subject lines really are a
16:25 big deal I mean especially even in PR so
16:27 you know trying to get placements for
16:29 for innovators and that sort of thing
16:31 too and seven times is key
16:34 seven times rejection and then you’ll
16:37 finally get something so persistence is
16:39 also really key
16:41 but you can Google best subject lines
16:43 I’ve done it before for my for my PR
16:45 clients nice you can definitely do that
16:47 Because you really want to look at your
16:49 open rate and see who’s opening how many
16:52 people are opening
16:53 that sort of thing and that’s really
16:55 powerful tell them how to use the new
16:57 thing the AI thing
16:58 oh yeah so the chat GPT this is very
17:01 controversial however
17:05 if you are doing all the things which
17:09 I know all of you Founders are
17:11 innovators inventors you’re doing all of
17:14 the things
17:15 you can really rely on this chat GPT
17:17 so if you’re writing an email to anyone
17:21 a buyer anyone you can type into the AI
17:25 rewrite in the style of a letter to a a
17:29 buyer for XYZ whatever it is you’re
17:32 looking to do and then type in a
17:34 headline of what you want or even type
17:37 the whole email so you have specifics in
17:39 there and then it’ll come up with
17:40 something that is it rewrites it for you
17:43 guys rewrite the whole thing but you
17:45 have to be very specific very specific
17:47 so you have to you have to tell it
17:48 exactly what to do sort of like a robot
17:50 and it’s exactly what it is
17:53 but it can I just want to clarify
17:54 this for anyone who’s listening you guys
17:56 it’s crazy
17:59 I have a very distinct me it’s obvious
18:02 that I have these words that I use and
18:04 what I’ve done and Katie did this for me
18:07 yeah and I wanted she was trying to
18:11 duplicate some of the stuff for me and
18:13 and she said to me I put it in and I
18:16 loved it and I thought there is no way
18:18 it’s gonna know this thing and this
18:20 thing and this thing yeah I read it and
18:22 I was like I don’t even have to exist. It’s
18:27 meticulously scary very quickly yes it’s
18:30 very cool it’s a good point right in
18:31 terms of creative process even how
18:33 you’re thinking the different tools that
18:35 are out there right sometimes yes you
18:36 know we get stuck in thinking oh I have
18:38 to send this kind of email right
18:40 sometimes it’s just a different way
18:42 right
18:43 I’ve had people use Instagram
18:45 Outreach for different things you know
18:47 just because they’re trying to trying to
18:48 get to someone who’s in that demographic
18:50 who uses that more than email right so
18:53 just kind of being open and thinking
18:54 about what are the different tools at my
18:56 disposal absolutely oh my God you guys
18:58 and I just read somewhere that if you
19:01 want to talk to Ryan Reynolds you come
19:03 up with something funny to pitch to him
19:05 and he will answer so it’s getting into
19:08 it and I’m going to do this
19:10 we want him to help we want him to use
19:13 that you know that gift he has to
19:16 spend no money for marketing but we want
19:18 to use it to help a lot at once so we
19:20 just haven’t figured out what that
19:21 vehicle is yet but we are going to Ryan
19:24 if you’re listening yes
19:28 when we get in that episode where he’s
19:30 on we’re gonna go like play this part
19:32 back
19:35 your new mission
19:42 we just think that would be a blast so
19:45 but like you said I you had to share
19:47 that because that was for sure it’s
19:49 really about having a tool you know and
19:51 when you’re working on such a lean
19:53 budget everybody is bootstrapping just
19:56 about everybody is bootstrapping and
19:58 you’re really looking for
20:00 a way to grow a team before you have
20:04 a team yeah so to speak right or even if
20:07 you have a small team someone else to
20:09 rely on in this chat GPT like I said it
20:12 can be controversial but for the startup
20:14 game it’s a it’s a game changer it
20:17 really is it’s really a helpful way you
20:19 guys I can’t write so I loved it and
20:22 it’s free it’s free it’s free so I got
20:24 another idea I was thinking of another
20:25 one that I did that was kind of creative
20:27 in order to get somebody’s
20:29 attention
20:31 I’m trying because so I it’s funny
20:34 I was hesitating to bring this up
20:35 because friends
20:37 you know where I’m going with this but
20:39 so a lot of people get stuck right we
20:42 talked about this and so there’s this
20:44 methodology this idea out there of like
20:46 oh I’m just going to write this generic
20:48 script since we’re talking about what
20:50 you’re writing right and push it out and
20:51 push it out right oh follow this script
20:53 Luanne follow the script you know as
20:55 opposed to you know being a little bit
20:57 creative being a little bit funny being
20:58 oh right how many times have you
21:00 been forced into sending an email out
21:02 that doesn’t oh my god
21:04 oh yeah I gotta share
21:07 this
21:09 Keith and I had worked together on a
21:10 project they
21:13 I’m gonna try to keep it as generic as
21:16 possible they brought in a lead expert
21:21 literally I guess when you say it
21:22 she’s this person was supposed to be an
21:24 expert how to get more sales and how
21:27 to make us stand out and they literally
21:30 gave us each a sentence on how to
21:33 respond to LinkedIn how to respond to
21:35 whatever and how to respond to whatever
21:36 email or whatever and
21:39 we literally
21:41 died we’re like like my every bone in my
21:45 body hurt because I am so about the
21:48 opposite of that yeah and this person
21:49 got a ton of money in this project to
21:52 come and guide us to literally say the
21:54 exact same response and you guys
21:56 seriously like I’ve wanted Ted Turner
21:59 and I picked up the phone and been like
22:01 could I please talk to Ted they put
22:03 me through Ted gets on Ted’s goes hi
22:05 this is Ted and I go Ted and then the
22:08 girl gets the secretary got back on and
22:10 said wait a minute who’d you say you
22:11 were again and then it was over because
22:14 that’s the stuff that counts that’s the
22:16 stuff where you go I’m just going for it
22:18 right if you’re respectful and you know
22:20 what you’re after right and you’re
22:22 courteous people love that have
22:24 confidence have confidence go but think
22:28 don’t waste your time
22:30 like I said maybe the Chamber of
22:32 Commerce is the best don’t waste your
22:34 time being in a room please don’t take
22:36 this wrong Chamber of Commerce
22:40 I guess when saying is you know you’re
22:42 one of 50 people that are going to pitch
22:44 that morning all I’m saying is that is
22:47 such a great opportunity for you to have
22:49 but make yours matter make yours Stand
22:52 Out stand out like I’ve been in I’ve
22:54 been an event where we stuck a 10 bill
22:56 under a chair and so we were like okay
22:59 so my pitch is you know I help
23:01 innovators and help them find new money
23:02 so there is a 10 dollar bill under somebody’s
23:05 chair ever
23:06 runs around looking for a ten dollar
23:08 bill but they know me now when I leave
23:10 the room they’re like that’s the crazy
23:12 lady that stuck ten dollars under her
23:14 chair right so that’s the kind of thing
23:15 I’m trying to say that’s really
23:17 fun it’s funny because that applies to
23:19 all mediums right whether it’s in PR or
23:22 getting somebody to open an email
23:22 subject whether it’s an in-person thing
23:24 or whether it’s digital and online
23:25 because there’s so much noise right we
23:28 get a million emails we get a million
23:30 ads so many posts on social media so
23:33 many websites is it really finding that
23:35 way to stand out and that that could get
23:37 us all the way down into this whole
23:38 branding discussion but we’ll save that
23:39 for another time hey Google the magic of
23:42 moments is that what it’s called oh my
23:43 goodness I need to look it up but it’s a
23:45 phenomenal book and it really focuses on
23:48 that and it’s really it’s about the
23:49 startup space
23:51 in fact one of our innovators is from
23:53 Los Angeles and works at
23:56 The Magic Castle which is a hotel and
23:59 the Magic Castle is cited in this book
24:00 about how
24:02 the one thing the biggest takeaway is
24:05 when you go out to the pool you can
24:07 order there’s a red phone behind the bar
24:09 pick up this red phone and they will
24:11 bring out a popsicle to you on a silver
24:13 platter from a guy in a tuxedo and this
24:17 is sort of an older Hotel
24:20 and our inventor as a magician we
24:23 love him
24:24 but he happens to work there as well
24:26 and I never knew this until I read this
24:29 book and it was so cool but that’s the
24:31 magic moment
24:35 right so and the family after they went
24:38 home they had this big California
24:39 vacation and the thing that the kids
24:42 remember the most was this red popsicle
24:44 brought out to them on a silver platter
24:46 by a guy in a tuxedo and it costs
24:49 nothing for them to do that exactly so
24:51 but that’s the magic of moments and I
24:53 think that
24:54 if you can create that in your brand
24:56 it really does set you apart it does and
24:59 I guess what I really wanted to
25:01 stress out of this session was that you
25:04 have to like I really want you to think
25:06 as creatively about how to get the
25:10 product out as you did to make it happen
25:12 because inventors you we’ve seen it they
25:15 spend years making it better and getting
25:17 you know more fine-tuned and testing it
25:20 out and it goes on forever and then when
25:22 it comes time to Market if they’re stuck
25:24 they literally stop dead in their tracks
25:26 and so it’s like when you’re doing it
25:28 all start thinking like what’s gonna
25:30 stand out what’s going to make this
25:31 stick out how can I get it to the right
25:33 person in the right way how can I make
25:35 something fun out of my marketing
25:37 strategy and Keith I know you can do
25:40 that online easily you’re really good at
25:42 branding and doing that so
25:44 and like Katie said let’s grab up all
25:46 the pr that you can get you know get
25:49 crazy and try to do that tell us a tip
25:52 yeah so I think
25:53 actually I’m gonna go a little bit of
25:56 a challenge more than a tip and I would
25:58 be to like send in what you have done
26:01 right tell us your ideas the things you
26:03 guys have tried or the other tip would
26:05 be ask us a question hey I have this
26:08 particular scenario what are some ideas
26:10 right I want to do this we will heat
26:12 this up I love that let’s do that
26:15 sometimes you know you get creative
26:17 Road you know creative block or anything
26:19 like that just ask a friend in this case
26:20 ask us we’ll see what we can do I love
26:22 it I want to do that because we love
26:24 that we’re good at that we’re always
26:25 like let’s make something crazy go ahead
26:27 my tip is to be your own publicist
26:30 most innovators are working another job
26:33 outside of their side hustle which
26:34 they’re hoping will be their full-time
26:36 hustle and what I see the most is
26:38 they’re not promoting themselves enough
26:40 they’re not asking people enough and
26:42 they’re not doing their pitches enough
26:44 so be your own publicist awesome yeah I
26:47 do agree with that
————————————————————————————————————————————
26:48 and I’m gonna go I’m gonna stick with
26:50 you Keith I’m I really want that I
26:53 live for that for me I am all about the
26:56 best marketing strategy how can I go
26:57 around what’s the norm I’ve got a client
27:00 right now that wants Tom Cruise
27:02 and you know what you guys it’s crazy
27:05 they have a sunglass case but it’s
27:07 like the ideal case for the shades that
27:11 you wear on you know Top Gun right and
27:14 so in their head they have this whole
27:16 illusion of how great it would be and my
27:19 daughter’s best friend’s roommate is
27:22 with Tom Cruise right now
27:25 she does she’s a nurse and so she’s
27:27 there
27:28 I can’t say this
27:30 we have to cut that out you guys I’m not
27:33 allowed to tell you that
27:34 go back to like
————————————————————————————————————————————
27:37 so my tip is I’m going to stay with
27:40 Keith and challenge you to send us your
27:43 stuff your questions ask us if we can
27:45 help
27:47 let us do it because we live for this
27:49 we love the marketing strategies we love
27:51 the tough stuff we love I’m all about
27:53 Ryan Reynolds and getting him to play
27:55 with us and so we like those kind of
27:58 things that if we can figure out a way
27:59 ourselves we want to do that for you
28:02 and I ask that you think about that
28:03 even when you’re sending it think let
28:06 yourself think really large and be like
28:08 gosh if I could have anything I would
28:11 want m product to be whatever whether
28:14 it’s in Target or so and so some
28:16 celebrity lives in it or whatever think
28:18 about what it is just let yourself Tony
28:21 Robbins once said this you know I ask
28:24 people grown-ups he said I’ll talk to
28:26 grown-ups and I’ll ask them to let their
28:28 imaginations go and if you had all the
28:30 money in the world what would you do and
28:31 they would be like well I’d buy a new
28:33 home
28:34 I guess I would upgrade my car and he
28:37 said but you ask a kid at six years old
28:39 if you could have anything what would
28:41 you want I’m gonna get a house and you
28:43 can have a house and I’m gonna get you a
28:44 house and I think we should drive limos
28:46 and I think right kids will go because
28:49 their brains haven’t gotten doubtful so
28:52 I’m gonna challenge you to just let it
28:54 go be as big as you can because if you
28:56 can get 10 of your biggest your life is
28:58 amazing so we’re going to end on that
29:00 note and we’ll see you next week
29:02 thanks guys
